Seismic safety assessment of trains running on high-speed railway bridges with chloride-induced corroding piers

For the lifetime assessment of running safety a train in aggressive environments and earthquake-prone areas, effects corrosion on seismic performance must be considered. Research trains, including damage, is limited, despite fact that trains high-speed railway bridges has been extensively examined. In this work, was evaluated using time-varying corroded bridge finite-element model established OpenSees. Two pier types were considered, three ground-motion selected for performing evaluations. Subsequently, response bridge-track structure under an earthquake analyzed. The spectrum intensity used as structural index earthquakes, long-term with different heights types, considering corroding deterioration, evaluated. results indicate low-level piers are primarily linear elastic state least influenced by corrosion; whereas high-level significantly deteriorates after corrosion, particularly high-pier bridges, mainly because more likely to yield lower post-yield stiffness. study suggest characteristics should
